CONCEPTUAL ARTWORK

Some people can supposedly visualize an entire modeling project in their head without ever committing a concept to paper. Stephen is not one of these people, and prefers to make dozens of sketches before starting, or sometimes in the middle of, a project. A general sketch fills out the basic shape, which is then modeled as a 3D mockup, printed out and drawn over again in order to nail down more detailed elements. Even if one knows exactly what they want, doing multiple sketches allows you to experiment and often brings about ideas that wouldn't have otherwise been conceived.
